 Day 1. Hometown - Rome (Italy)
Our Italian holiday begins as we board our comfortable trans-Atlantic flight to Rome, the capital of Italy.
 Day 2. Rome (D)
We arrive at Rome, a fabulous, majestic city that is both ancient and modern. After arrival, transfer to a local restaurant for our first dinner in Italy.

 Day 3. Rome - Vatican (B)

Our city tour begins at Vatican, where the magnificent St. Peter’s Basilica was built on the ruins of old Saint Peter’s Basilica and which was in turn built on the site of St. Peter’s tomb. In front of St. Peter’s is Bernini’s awe-inspiring St. Peter’s Square. (If time and circumstance allow, we strongly recommend an optional tour of Sistine Chapel to view Michelangelo’s incomparable masterpiece, the “Last Judgment”). We then continue our panoramic city tour, which includes Piazza Venezia, Independence Monument, Roman Forum, Constantine’s Arch, Colosseum, etc. At the spectacular Trevi Fountain, you may want to throw a coin into to the water to ensure your return to Rome. We end our tour at the stunningly beautiful and always popular Spanish Steps. This area is known for its numerous fashion stores and restaurants.

  Day 4. Rome - Pompeii - Sorrento - Naples (B/D)

We travel south this morning to the ancient city of Pompeii. This city of antiquity was preserved under volcanic ash when Mt. Vesuvius erupted in AD 79. It lay buried and forgotten for centuries until its accidental rediscovery in 1748. Our license local guide will provide an in-depth introduction to the history of the city and the people who once lived there. We then drive to Sorrento, a beautiful city overlooking the breathtaking Bay of Naples. Free time to stroll around, enjoy an espresso or shop for souvenirs before travel to Naples for overnight. Dinner at tonight’s hotel.

 Day 5. Naples - Rome (B)
Naples, located at the foothills of Mt. Vesuvius, this is a colorful city often associated with the “original” pizza, Neapolitan ice cream and narrow streets. The third largest city in Italy, Naples is rich in history and architectural treasures. Our orientation city tour includes the Royal Palace, Piazza Plebiscito, Piazza Municipio with its huge medieval castle, the Maschio Angioino, and the San Carlo Opera House. We then return to Rome for more sightseeing or shopping on your own.

 Day 6. Rome - Pisa - Florence(B)
This morning we travel north to Pisa to see the Leaning Tower of Pisa. Tilting at close to 15 feet and still standing, this is one of the Seven Wonders of the World. We then drive to Florence, the birthplace of the Italian Renaissance and the cultural and artistic heart of Italy. It is world-renowned for its museums and Renaissance architecture. Our walking tour takes in the Duomo (Santa Maria del Fiore), Ghiberti’s “Gates of Paradise” (Baptistery), Giotto’s Campanile, the birth house of the poet Dante, Piazza della Signoria, Palazzo Vecchio, and Piazza Santa Croce. Florence is famous for its handcrafted, naturally dyed leather goods and fabulous gold jewelries. After our city tour, there is time to shop to your heart’s contend for fabulous leather jackets, handbags and gold jewelries.

 Day 7. Florence - Venice - Verona (B)
This morning, we travel to Venice, a city of unsurpassed beauty. Situated in the middle of the Venetian lagoon, it is made up of 118 islands, 150 canals and 400 bridges. We visit Piazza San Marco, Basilica St. Marco, Doge’s Palace, Bridge of Sighs and the Campanile. For close-up views of some of the most stunning Venetian palaces and the magnificent Grand Canal, we recommend a leisurely and smooth gondola ride (optional). If time and circumstance allow, we will visit a well-known Venetian glass factory for a live demonstration of the art of glassblowing. Overnight in Verona.

 Day 8. Verona - Milan (B/D)
Verona is indelibly associated with Shakespeare’s immortal work, “Romeo and Juliet”. Lovers from all over the world come to inscribe their names on the walls of Juliet’s house (entrance not included) and have their photos taken with Juliet’s bronze statue. Verona’s Roman Amphitheater, the third largest in the world with an audience capacity of over 20,000, is still used for opera performances every summer. We then travel to Milan, the second largest city in Italy and one of the foremost industrial, commercial, and design centers in Europe. Our orientation city tour includes the Cathedral of Milan (Duomo), a structure which took almost 6 centuries to complete and is justly famous for its stained glass windows and numerous masterly carved stone statues representing biblical characters. Nearby is one of the earliest shopping malls in Europe, the late 19C Galleria Victor Emmanuelle II; and La Scala, the leading opera house in the world. There is plenty of time to shop ‘till you drop for famous Italian fashion and souvenirs.

 Day 9. Milan - Hometown (B)
After breakfast, transfer to airport for our homebound flight.
